I am in isolation- Tamim

Fortune Barishal opener Tamim Iqbal said that he was sent to isolation from the dressing room during the match against Beximco Dhaka in the ongoing Bangabandhu T20 Cup at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Saturday.

The absence of Tamim, who did not came out in the second half of the game due to cold, raised many eyebrows before the opener cleared the air.

The game was eventually won by his team as they defeated Dhaka by two runs but claim a spot in the tournament but his availability in the eliminator depends on the result of his Covid-19 Test. Barisal will be taking on Dhaka in the eliminator at SBNS on Monday.

‘’They( BCB medical unit) had sent me to isolation and tomorrow I have few test and if it is found out that everything is ok with me than I will be playing in the semi-final,’’ Tamim was quoted after the game on Saturday.

‘’From yesterday I was not well and only this morning I was feeling better. After coming back from batting I was feeling very weak and at that point the medical unit of BCB came and assisted me and after assisting me they felt that it won’t be right for me to stay in the dressing room,’’ he said.

Gemcon Khulna will take on Gazi Group Chattogram in the first qualifier after the eliminator at the same venue.
