BCB wants to start domestic cricket after February

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has brought back competitive cricket at home with the BCB President's Cup and Bangabandhu T20 Cup. Now Bangladesh is going to return to international cricket against West Indies later this month.

Despite the return of competitive cricket, BCB has yet to return to domestic cricket. However, the BCB wants to return the domestic tournaments after February. But they want to ensure a vaccine for cricketers before the start of domestic cricket. The chairman of the media committee of the BCB Jalal Yunus on Saturday (January 18) to the media.

The Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier League (DPL) started on March 15 last year, however, the BCB was forced to suspend it after one round due to the outbreak of corona pandemic. After that, the rest of the suspended DPL was not played on the field. However, they are quite optimistic about the beginning of DPL, BCB also wants to bring back first class cricket and national league.

"The rest of our domestic game was stopped after a match with the Premier League because of Corona. We want to start it again along with the first-class cricket and the national league, which have a lot of games left.” Jalal said.

The BCB wants to ensure the vaccine before the start of the next series in Bangladesh. Jalal said the BCB president was personally trying to get the vaccine.

“Players have the priority of the government for the corona vaccine. It is not yet confirmed when we will get it but we will try our best so that we have it for our players of the national team. We have series in near future and if we will try to give it before then we will apply it to him. Our board president is personally working for the vaccine.” He added.
