Sunil Gavaskar Reveals the Glitch in Mayank Agarwal's Technique

One of Team India's swashbuckling batsmen, Mayank Agarwal has come in the limelight with a fifty against Australia in his Test debut in early 2019. He soon stole the limelight away from others with his stunning knocks in the next two years, but it seems he lost the touch in current series against Australia as he could only manage 17, 9, 0 and 5 in the two Tests. Moreover, he is getting out repeatedly in the same way and this is the reason for worry as well.

Meanwhile, former India captain and batting legend Sunil Gavaskar said that his batting stance is the main problem creator. "His new stance is giving him less options on the backfoot, something that he cannot do on Australian pitches. It can help him cover for that movement inside from the left-arm pacer," Sunil Gavaskar said during an interview with an Australian channel.

He also said that Mayank should open his stance a bit more in order to play those balls which are coming in. "It can help him cover for that movement inside from the left-arm pacer," said Gavaskar.

On the other hand, another former batsman, Deep Dasgupta shared the second glitch in Mayank's batting. He said that the youngster's wrists get stuck behind his right hip as well.

"It happened to me once too and it needs to be worked on. He can probably bring his wrists closer so that he can get to the ball quicker," Dasgupta had told.

Meanwhile, Team India is now gearing up to play the Third Test against Australia after levelling the four-match Test series by 1-1.
