Shakib corona negative

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will be taking part in the fitness test after coming out corona negative following COVID-19 test on November 5, said Bangladesh Cricket Board official on Sunday.

Shakib is eyeing to start competitive cricket as his one-year ban imposed by International Cricket Council for failing to report corrupt approaches ended on October 29.

‘’He (Shakib) is corona negative and hopefully will be taking part in the fitness test,’’ BCB chief physician Debashish Chowdhury told reporters on Sunday

Debashish added that they had requested the health authorities to excuse Shakib from the quarantine if he was tested COVID-19 negative.

‘‘We have given a letter to DGHS. He [Shakib] will be boarding the airplane with a corona negative certificate. After arrival, he will again be tested in a DGHS approved lab. If he tests negative again, only then he may not need quarantine. That is the general practice,’’ he said.

According to the directives of Directorate General of Health Services, international traveler shall undergo 14 days of home quarantine if he carries COVID-19 negative certificate while if someone does not carry a COVID-19 negative certificate he shall go to our institutional quarantine.
